Following on from my article 10 Reasons To Sell From Home Parties, Liz sent in some additional ones:

    1. Clients like to get to know the artist.
    2. It encourages custom orders as you spend more time with an individual client because she might have an occasion coming up or want something for an outfit.
    3. It gives you a chance to educate the client about materials and design elements used.
    4. Clients like to buy something that's handmade locally rather than imported from China or India.
    5. My work is all one-of-a-kind. This gives me an opportunity to really make clients feel special and understand that they won't run into anyone else with the exact same piece.
    6. Friends can often sell to their friends better than I can because they know them better, know their wardrobe, their taste, what they need. For example, I have had guests who literally never wear any jewelry come to a home party and their girlfriends (along with me in the background) guide them to getting a few pieces that will start them in the right direction.

    Thanks again Liz!

Ultimate Guide to Your Profitable Jewelry Booth by Rena Klingenberg

Many of you who make jewelry already know and love Rena's website, and have no doubt already invested in her fab new ebook. But for those of you that haven't come across it yet, I don't want you to miss out!

It's written in Rena's typical friendly and informal style, which alongside her vast knowledge and experience makes this book a must-read for anyone who wants to sell at craft shows. I picked up some good tips for setting up at home parties too!

Although it's aimed at jewelry makers, I still believe it would be very useful for any craftsperson who needs tips for setting up their booth. She has great checklists, tips on keeping your items safe and so much more too.

If you'd like to find out more about it, you can check it out here. It would still be a bargain at twice the price, so for those of you who are hesitating, rest assured it's worth it.

If you know of a useful website or resource that would appeal to my readers, please let me know about it here.
