"My neighbor hosts a weekend open house every Novemeber right before Thanksgiving. She allots us all a space and manages all of the receipts. We all invite friends, neighbors and co-workers. It's a nice way to see everyone and get exposure to many folks.

I think it makes a great extension to the home craft party. If you would like an idea what is offered, we sell home baked goods, home canned goods, herb dip mixes, native honey, jewelry, sewing, quilts, woodwork ornaments, kitchen towels, and other crafts.

The crafters mingle with the guests and help out. It is like a boutique in the home. She always gets a great turnout since people buy the baked goods to serve on Thanksgiving, and it is close to Christmas for gifts."

Thanks Sharon. What a fab way to take the open house idea even further!

    Craft website of the month

While we're on the subject of jewellery... here's another great website to take a look at!

    www.Artbeads.com

I know my subscribers come from all over, so I'm thrilled to be able to recommend a beadstore that provides great service internationally.

I've recently placed a couple of orders with Artbeads.com and have been very impressed with the selection and the service. If you live in the US, you get free shipping (I'm sooo jealous) - but postage worldwide is also very reasonable.

My orders were shipped very quickly, and both times arrived in the UK in less than a week - that's quicker than some local suppliers here. Postage was only $10, and I saved a lot on sterling findings.

Tip: if you live in the UK and are worried about customs charges, keep your order under £18 to be on the safe side.

So wherever you're from, take a look - they have gemstones, pearls, sterling silver, hill tribe silver, bali beads, Swarovski crystal, and more - in fact just about everything a bead addict needs! And it comes prettily packaged too...

If you know of a website that would appeal to my readers, please let me know about it here.
