I've compiled a list of craft business resources that I hope will be helpful to you. If you know of any other useful resources that I've not included, please let me know about them. General Craft Business Information Resources Too many people are afraid of starting up a business because of having to register for tax. It's not as difficult as you think - it just takes a little time to read the information. These websites will send you in the right direction.
Internal Revenue Service - US Department of the Treasury site providing information, advice and links for those starting a small business. James Dillehay's package of 5 books and a CD contains hundreds of craft marketing tactics based on his own experiences, including tips on making your crafts stand out from the rest, how to increase your craft sales, pricing considerations and even how to profit by selling at craft home parties! The 'Pricing Your Craftwork' book is a particular favourite of mine, and I refer to it often. Although the cost may initially seem high, if you take into account the fact that it consists of 5 books and a CD, it's actually great value for money, and a very worthwhile investment if you want your craft business to succeed
Working from home comes with its own set of challenges. Joining an online community of likeminded people can make all the difference - it's always good to see how others deal with the same situations when things get a bit rocky!
