Craft Party in a Basket

This is a great way to get extra orders from friends or guests who don't want to have a craft party but still know plenty of other potential customers!

Here's how to offer them a craft party in a basket:

  1. Put a selection of your crafts in an attractive basket.
  2. Make sure everything has a price and item number on it, and also that each item has your contact details attached (for reorders and future sales).
  3. Include a typed up list of everything that the basket contains with the prices and item numbers (keep a copy for yourself as well).

greeting-card-basket Tell your guests or friends that they can volunteer to keep the basket for a week or two and earn normal hostess commission on whatever they sell from it by showing it to their friends and family.

They can take it into their office with them to sell to colleagues, to toddler groups they attend or bring it with them on the school run to sell to other parents.

I even had a hairdresser friend who worked from home and showed my basket of greeting cards to all her clients!

A good tip is to make sure the 'hostess' signs the inventory list so that she takes responsibility for your crafts and ensures nothing goes missing. She can just mark off each item on the list as it sells, so keeping track of sales is easy.

This works fantastically well for small, relatively inexpensive crafts such as greeting cards and fashion jewellery. It's also handy for clearing out old stock or one off pieces that you can't get any more supplies for.
