8 Great Excuses to Have a Home Party

Have a home party of your own to launch your home party business, to boost sales or to get more bookings.

Here's a list of 8 great excuses to have a home party!

  1. A special occasion - whether it's Christmas, Mother's Day or Halloween, everyone loves to celebrate special occasions and holidays. The list is endless - you could come up with something every month if you wanted to! See Theme Parties for some tips on holding this type of home party.
  2. Charity or fundraising - whether it's facilities for your local school, raising funds for nationwide disasters or just supporting a charity that's close to your heart, have a craft home party to increase awareness and raise money. Take a look at the section on Fundraising Crafts for ideas.
  3. Back to school - have a home party for all the moms to celebrate their kids going back to school after the holidays!
  4. Summer holidays - alternatively, have a get together for all the moms just before schools close for the holidays. If you don't leave it too late, you can help them out by providing teachers' thank you presents for sale at the same time. Or have a beach theme party with lots of summery crafts on display, e.g. shell jewelry, beach bags, summer clothing to get everyone in the summer holiday mood.
  5. Welcome a new neighbour - these days it often seems that we don't get to know our new neighbours for ages after they've moved in. Have a home party to welcome someone who's new to your area and introduce them to everyone.
  6. Thank hostesses - have a home party that's exclusively for all your previous hostesses, to say thanks and to give them a sneak preview of what new crafts you've made.
  7. Launch a new range - let everyone know about your latest range of crafts by having a launch party, e.g. fashion jewelry makers launching their new sterling silver range, papercrafters introducing their 'shopping diva' or 'sports themed' greeting cards, candle makers showcasing their new gel candles. This type of party also combines well with special occasion home parties, e.g. a Christmas party to launch your Christmas range.
  8. Farewell party - have a party to say goodbye to a friend moving out of the area, a local school teacher going to work elsewhere or to all the moms whose kids are leaving school that term.

That list should get you started, but I'm sure you can come up with plenty more ideas. Let me know if you come up with some really original excuses to have a home party!
