Craft Party Plan Business

A craft party plan business could be the solution for you if you like the idea of craft home parties, but have just dabbled in this and that and don't really know what you could sell.

Or if you want to teach others a craft, but are't really sure where to start, then a party plan company could provide you with the direction you need.

As with any home business opportunity, choose your craft party plan company carefully. Here are some things to bear in mind:

• It's best to stick with well known, reputable party plan businesses.


• There will usually be some investment upfront, but this should be minimal. Find out exactly what it includes.


• Check out whether there are minimum requirements (in sales or recruitments) for you to remain an active agent and decide whether you can realistically meet these.


• Find out whether recruitment is the main focus of the business - if so, are you comfortable with that?


• What kind of support is available for agents? Is there training given, and is it compulsory?

The advantage of working for a party plan company is that they'll usually support and train you, provide you with the necessary tools and stationery and reward good sales.

The disadvantage is that although you're self employed you'll be expected to do things the company way, with less freedom to make your own choices. There is also often pressure to set up a certain number of parties, or to meet specific sales targets. And you'll probably also be expected to try and recruit new consultants. So your work schedule may be less flexible.
